Going rock climbing today!!! So exciting!
Don't know how it would go tho... cuz I have very sore legs from skating yesterday especially my right thigh. I guess 1.5hr almost non-stop jumping is a bit too much for me.

Dead tired friday
Terrible weather today. I hope it is not going to be as bad tomorrow.
Found one new bug. Know it all along but always thought that it'd never happen in the real world... but now I found a way to make it happen. Yahoo...
Went skating during lunch as usual. My loop is getting back to shape. But, my waltz is getting worse.... I think all those step sequence thing somehow changes the way that I glide backward on my right skate and so it's different when I step on my left skate after the Mohawk. My edge is not deep enuf on my left skate and therefore my knee is not bending as much... and therefore i'm not jumping as high. Used to have a deep outside edge for my waltz... not anymore
.
And same old same old with my flip... still not high enuf altho I now know the correct arm movement for it.
My backward clockwise crossover is now getting better altho the toe pick is still scratching the ice a bit. But, at least now it's smoother and feels more natural to me. All thanks to the setup practice for the lutz.
So so so tired after all the skating.
In the lab, someone is sending periodic page. Ear piercing beeping tone every few minutes!!!!! ARGHHHH
After supper went to John's place and saw Infernal Affairs 2. It's vewwy vewwy good!

More new skating stuffs
Learned so many new things today.
1. New step sequence
2. Lutz
3. Flip
Have got to remember to ask him how to fix my Choctaw next time.
So tired after the lesson, my right shin is hurting.
Glad that I only did 7lap run and 1lap walk for warmup.
The charcoal thing that I bought for my skates worked wonders. Boots are nice and dry now. No more mold. And it only costs $2+tax!!
1. New step sequence
- clockwise direction:
- - forward anti-clockwise crossover to the left
- - Mohawk (step on to the right skate then switch over to the left skate)
- - while on the left skate (at the end of the Mohawk),
step on the right skate (wide step)(on to the inside edge i think...) - - shift center of mass to the left and starts a clockwise backward crossover
- - change direction and step onto the left skate
- - continue with a forward anti-clockwise crossover
- -.... repeat....
- (do the oppsite thing for the other direction)
2. Lutz
- - starts from a clockwise backward crossover
- - stands up straight with right arm in front of the left arm
- and right leg in front of the left leg
- - put left arm in front and right arm back
- (most of ur weight will be on the left skate)
- - pick up the right leg
- - bend left leg and stretches right leg behind with toepick pointing to the ice
- - tap onto the ice with the left toepick
- and at the same moment the left arm will be swinging down and upwards
- and the body goes with the left arm
- and the right arm comes meet the left arm
- ... and u should be airborne by now
3. Flip
- - starts with a very straight outside 3-turn on the left skate
- - as the turn finishes ur right skate should be low and pointing towards the ice
- - tap onto the ice with the left toepick
- - similar to the lutz...
- ..at the same moment the left arm will be swinging down and upwards
- and the body goes with the left arm
- and the right arm comes meet the left arm
- ... and u should be airborne by now

Cereally stuffed
Went to Save on Food during lunch. Bought orange juice and some healthy junk food, hemplus granola cereal and horlicks. The granola cereal is amazingly good... ate like 3 1/2cups in a roll. It contains 400 mg OMEGA-3's per serving (1/2cup). It has oats, brown rice flour, flaxseeds, hemp seeds, and rice bran extract. Very healthy. But, on the downside it's 140 calories per 1/2 cup.
Last nite...
Saw my coworker at the skating rink. He went with his son to the "Adult with Children 12yrs & Under" session.
Skating was good. Got lazy didn't practice my backward crossover much. Only focused on single toe loop. I think I'm finally beginning to grasp the idea of it. It's getting higher and has more flow to it now.
I so wanted to do an axle but still don't have the guts to do it. Always ended up doing a waltz jump instead.
I should practice more of my clockwise backward crossover, but it's so boring and exhausting. I guess I really don't like to look over my shoulder while travelling backwards.

Tue nite
The rain stopped at nite, so I was able to go running outside. Did my 20laps but had so many breaks (at 8th, 10th, and 15th lap) cuz my mom made chicken with chestnut. Yum yum yum. Also found out that the treadmill at home is still not fixed. Donno what I'm going to do when it starts raining again.
Saw my friends last nite. We went bubble tea. We ordered drinks, Taiwanese sausage and fried squid. The sausage's quite good. Didn't eat the squid tho cuz I was afraid of the cholesterol. One should always take care of one's health, rite?
Got a decorative gift for my cell phone :). It's a pink flower, goes well with my pink cell phone. Me being so clumsy and all... donno how long that thing will last.

Starts out bad
Traffic was so heavy this morning.... like hiking in Grouse Grind. "r we there yet? r we there yet?"....took me 40mins to get over the bridge...
Started to rain today... *sniff* *sniff* can't go running outside.
Pretty productive today. Witnessed 4 bug fixes, updated 2 reports, and might have found another bug.

Tired Monday
So tired the whole day but I kept my promise and did not touch my instant Latte.
Had a lil 10yr celebration for one of my coworkers. We all got to have a donut. Felt a bit worried after eating it. So only ordered a Thai chicken salad during lunch and didn't even finish it.
Running seems to be back to normal again as well as the cramps that I usually have when i go running after supper. But, at least I got to complete 20laps... with a break at the 8th and the 15th lap. My friend went running with me but she came late... and not dressed enuf... i mean jacket not thick enuf. Don't u think otherwise.
Got some interesting drink during lunch when walking around the mall. One is a bamboo drink that claims to contain less than 1 cal every 100ml (the whole bottle is 500ml), and another one is a red dates drink with bird nest. Both r made in P.R.C. (china). Parents said the bird nest drink is probably fake cuz it's super expensive, like several hundred $$$ per n gram??. But, it's so good... so I bought it again :(...

Guys....
Finally summed up the courage and told the hummer guy (the seemingly big bad guy that I used to date 5 mths ago) that he could not lure me away from my bf. He took it well, said we'd be friends.
But, can guys and girls really be friends? The ottawa guy that I used to date several mths ago also said the same thing. He's suddenly talking "weird" all of a sudden. Says he knows a good friend of my bf. So, he knows every secret btw me and my bf. So I said there could be many ppl of the same name. And he said he's sure it's me cuz that guy has my address and my phone number. But I'm pretty sure that my bf would not give my info out. So, is he trying to cause a rift between me and my bf? Either way, this does not make me feel good. Also said he'd seen pic of my bf with my bf's ex and many other friends.
The internet can sometimes be a lil scary.... and that there is no real secret.

Fun weekend
On Fri nite, went to my friend's friend's bday supper and karaoke. Supper in Spegetti Factory and karaoke in DiDarDi .... so lame... same old songs... same ones we sang together from last get-together several mths ago. But, I got to hang out with them, which is cool.
On Sat, went running in the morning then took a ride in the corvette to near the airport and then to UBC. It was cool. We had the T-tops off. Afterwards, went to Lansdown with John. Bought 3 new sweat pants ^^! Have to buy new pants... sick of wearing the same pant 3 days in a roll for skating. John was so patient waited for me the whole time :D. Might go shopping spree with him next week for his clothes, my turn to wait next week.
After the shopping, we went to the BC Lions Games, in BC Stadium in downtown. I'm beginning to understand it more. So much stopping in the game. The atmosphere was very good. Ppl were drinking beer everywhere. We saw shirtless guy(s) (not so sure if it's the same guy) ran into the field twice, altho in between the TV up there already stated that it's a $1000 penalty for running into the field. So either one guy got $2000 penalty or 2 guys got $1000 penalty. Also saw shirtless guys in the audiences with letters "G","O","A", and "L" painted on them respectively. Interesting... And saw a girl wearing a tube top and skirt (and I thought I'd be the only one wearing skirt there if I didn't go home and change). The guys behind us were so "low class" and loud... one of them kept saying the other guy's mom is a whore.... When the girl with the tube top was talking to a guy went up to her seat, I heard them saying "she's not even sitting with u, she's 4 rows behind". I almost thought that they were going to start a fight but the guy that the girl was talking to ignored them in the end. There was a fight but I didn't see it, it's far away from us. I only knew it cuz everyone was standing up to try to catch a glimpse.show/hide...
After the game, we got sticky fingers from having supper (sweet onion terrayki + brisk lemonade + 2 chocolate chip cookies) in Subway. Took us a while to get out of the parking lot.
On Sun, went to church, washed my 320 (323-3), then went running with John. I only did 10 laps (or 8 laps?? but John said it's 10). Felt so tired.... John's knee is hurting again. My running is getting worse. Don't know y. Is it because I'm somehow not totally recovered from my cold? or is it because that skating wears me out? Now I get tired around lap #8!!!! Totally pathetic.
We went for a walk in Minoru Park afterwards. Saw many ducks (not Peking duck). Many of them comfortably sitting on the grass rite by the sidewalk... so very near us. But when i got closer, they started to move away... no fun.... didn't get to touch them. Saw bunnies too and squirrels of course, squirrels seems to be everywhere. And, many flocks of mosquitoes. Didn't get any bite tho.
Then went to John's friend's place to pick up his DVD, Office. Very funny, but hard to understand ... for me at least... so British.
Went to Aberdeen Center afterwards, just by myself. John was being a good boy doing his homework at home. In Daiso found something for my skating boots, some kind of charcoal to absorb moisture from shoes. I hope that would prevent any "mold condition" from happening again.

New stuffs
Learned some new stuffs from the skating lesson last nite.
First there is the edge exercise. Do a three turn but keep the other leg (the one that is not skating) in front and continue with a backward crossover. So hard to do, my toepicks keep scratching the ice.
Then there is the toe loop, which I already knew... but found out that I did it completely wrong and that's y I was never really able to do one after the waltz jump. But now I can do them 3 in a roll, toe loop after toe loop... haven't tried one after a waltz yet. Yay! He keeps saying that I look like I wanted to do a double. So completely untrue.... probably because I was reaching back and bending more than I needed to... that is probably because I learned it from watching ppl doing triple on TV.
For some reasons, I'm loosing my feel to the anti-clockwise forward crossover. I wonder if it's because my insoles r getting thinner because of the mold that I had on the insoles... :'(. And, of course, I still couldn't really do my clockwise backward crossover. I'm thinking I'll never be able to do them. But, of course, I'll keep trying...
Let me do a recap. What did he teach us so far?

Let me do a recap. What did he teach us so far?
- - Fix our crossovers (getting better now)
- have nice lean and toepicks should not be scratching the ice!
- - Fix waltz jump (ok)
- hips tight in the air
nice extending leg when landing
start after a Mohawk not after a backward crossover - - Stop using one skate only (already knew and can do it on both skates)
- - Falling leave (totally forgot how to do it)
- faces outside of the circle while gliding backwards,
the left leg is extended in the direction of travel,
leaps up off the right leg without benefit of a toe pick vault,
rotates a half-turn, briefly taps the left toepick, then lands
and glides on the right foot. - - Mazurka (can sorta do)
- half-revolution jump
faces outside of circle while gliding backward,
stick left toe pick on ice,
right leg leaps up / "scissors" across the left leg while the skater turns,
roates a half turn then taps briefly on the right toepick,
and land on the left skate - - Mohawk (can do it but i think there is something wrong with mine)
- changes feet changes direction but maintains the same edge
- - Salchow with a Mohawk entry (can never do this, I'll stick with my 3-turn entry)
- - Choctaw (can't do it :( )
- like a Mohawk but changes edge as the other skate stands on the ice
- - Pivot (easy to do)
- stick one toe pick in and glide on the other skate in a circle using the toe pick as the center
- - Backspin (already knew)
- - Edge exercises
- - forward crossover,
stands on one skate and lift the other up to do a slight change of edge,
Mohawk,
then extends the non-skating leg behind and glide backwards
(like a landing position)
- forward three turn followed by backward crossover - - Solam, both forward and backwards (so hard to do)
- - Single toe loop

Friend leaving...
Friend of mine from UBC is leaving Canada soon. Going to Japan, EA Japan. Good for him! Guess his ten years of hard work finally paid off. The EA Japan VP specifically requested him to be transferred to Japan!!! Guess his tools and researches were used globally (globally EA I mean). I guess he's all famous now. And, going to Japan has always been his dream since high school at least. He is very much into Japan and Japanese culture. Can speak Japanese quite fluently for example. We should have a celebration with him sometime that is if he can afford the time. Must be super busy rite now.
I'm a bit worried about his back tho. He hurt it when he was in a Judo black belt competition. Donno if they have chiropractor in Japan...

Abortion
From my religious point of view, it's totally wrong. Only God has the power to terminate a life. And every living thing should have a chance to experience life to its fullest.
I do agree that in some instances where the "parents" r not ready for a baby or the whole thing is just a terrible mishap, then it's unfair to the baby. However, who knows what he/she can accomplish even given the poor quality in life. Maybe he/she can grow up and become a scientist and take part in discovering new cures, or grow up and become a wonderful mother/father, or grow up and become a social worker that will help many other ppl. Who knows?
Some ppl may argue "What about woman's right? Shouldn't the mother has the right to decide?". But, a life is a life. Is sacrificing one life for another the right thing to do (and the one being sacrified cannot take part in the decision)? I am not so sure....

Just another regular day
Feel fine yesterday (tue). Went running as usual. But, very tired. Did 10 laps then had to take a break. Walked one lap. Then, ran another 5 laps. Then took a break. Then, ran another 3 laps. Then walked one more lap.
John phoned me around 7:30pm. So nice :). We went for a walk after he finished posting his assignment. The moon's so nice and round.... being "mid-autumn" and all. Altho it's all dark and dangerous (according to my parents), it's quiet and nice and comfortable. Not too cold. We got to talk a lot :).
Got a call from my ex-supervisor. Says there might be a contract coming up at his workplace... well but then I'm already working plus that place is all the way in North Van. But so nice to hear from him that he immediately thought of me when his boss asked him. Must be because of all the overtime that I worked before.
John said I should go have thanksgiving lunch/dinner with his family (mom excluded, went travelling). I wonder if I should invite him to my family's thanksgiving supper, if there is any.
Feeling very fine today (wed). Not much soareness in my throat. Wow! I'm so strong. Just some fever and I beat the virus. My co-worker is feeling better too... still coughing tho. Went to pick him up this morning. Waited outside for more than 10mins... for him to finish brushing his teeth ... I did phone ahead (15mins ahead) before I came over tho.
Going skating after work today.
Got a msg from my DDS friend. They r having a get together on fri nite, dinner and karaoke. I hope John would be able to join me, hope he won't be too tired. It'd be fun!
Revised a letter for my online friend for his ex. Very nice letter. Very funny too, the attached fold-up barf bag jpg.

First posting
Hewwo.
Lets see.... what happened lately..
Met John's parents on Sunday. Nice ppl. Had a nice walk near the river. Beautiful but getting too cold in the end. Then had a fever for an hr afterwards. But fine the next day. So went to work as usual.
Next day.... work as usual. Finished my estimates for my manager. He said it's too long. Well what do u expect with all the test cases and i'm so inexperienced with all of them. What a waste of time to do scheduling I think.
Since I feel fine, I went to run with John... I was 10mins late... John already did 3 laps when I started. So, ended up only did 12 laps. Felt very tired tho. Then went to London Drugs. John bought me instant breakfast (strawberry flavour). Yay!! Then went home took a shower and tried to finish the DVD, Godsend. Only 10mins into it and I started trembling/convulsing
for 15mins and a fever afterwards lasted till 11:00pm. Then I felt ok again. Went down and watched some TV and had 1.5 small slices of mooncake. Slept at 12:00. I'm so weird. I think I had some sort of delayed response to hypothermia... forgot to bring my jacket with me while walking towards London Drugs probably.. or may be it's the soar throat... or may be i had too many vitamin C and Advil for my soar throat... or may be it's the soar throat that caused it.
Today.... well have to redo the estimates as expected. Went out during lunch and missed John online again... aghhhh.... but I just can't stand the cold in the building ... had to get out.
So far I feel fine. Maybe I can run again tonite, probably for 15laps maximum.
Skating has been going ok. Getting better in my single salchow and the warm up moves (stand on toe picks and push backwards using the toe picks; swizzle then stand on toe picks, then back swizzle, then stand on end of blade). Can do salchow rite after a waltz jump now. Still suck at the clockwise direction of backward crossover. The anti-clockwise one comes naturally to me but not the other one :'(. Taught us pivot. Basically dig a hole in the ice. Stick one of ur skates in the ice using the toepick and glide on the other one in a circle. From that we moved onto backspin. But, I already knew backspin. So basically.. nothing new for me.
