Each of us brought some food on the 31st, some of us even dressed up.
I was going to make beef and vegetable stir fry, but I couldn't find the stir fry beef @ Save On. They just have the steak and the sandwich beef, seems a waste to cut a good piece of meat into pieces. So, I got hot and sweet chicken wing instead.
Other ppl brought
- fried rice
- fried noodles
- spaghetti with meat
- sweet and sour sole with red and green peppers
- BBQ sauce meatball (I know someone who'd love to have that)
- KFC products
- chocolate cookies
- lemon squares (so good, I had 3)
- green monster finger cookies
- potatoes salad
- greek salad
- salad with chickpeas in it
- corn chips with salsa dip
- spicy sausages
- Brendon biscuits with cheese
- mandarin oranges
- Sun-Rype orange and apple juice
- chips and more chips
- pop: ice tea, diet coke, and coke
.... Ate so much... shouldn't have dinner tonite.

Extremely busy
Headache Epic
Headache started on Fri. Learned from previous lesson that I shouldn't have a big lunch, so I only ordered a soup (comes with a bun). But, still I had trouble digesting it. Took off "early" (altho theorectically, I could get off at 4 anyway) at 3:45pm, missed the 4 o'clock meeting. Skipped skating lesson and just stayed in bed. Threw up at around 6:45pm and felt a lot better, just in time for the church meeting.
The church meeting didn't go too well, might have to delay the wedding day till 2008 :'(. But, we could register for the wedding preparation course. I don't think the bridal studio would be too happy of the day change.
After that, we went to Kirin for supper. I was well enuf to have a normal amount of food.
Fun Sat
A friend of mine came down to visit me with her bf. We went skating in Minoru. Her bf is very determined to learn how to skate.
After skating, we went to Ricco cafe. I ordered the Taro thick toast, and black soy drink. The drink was a bit too sweet, and maybe that's y the thick toast seemed tasteless. My friend ordered 2 meals and a drink, wonton soup, curry chicken meal with appetizers on the side (which they actually should rename it to spicy chicken, absolutely no curry in it), and Emerald (HUGE matcha milk tea with vanilla ice cream on top). Her bf ordered apple tea and spicy "lion roll" (rolls made with rice noodle with cheese stuffed inside).
After that we met up with my bf and went to see "Prestige". It was such a good movie. Lots of twist. I was only disappointed that I didn't get to see much special effect. I missed a small part of it, my tummy hurt in the middle of it.... too much food at Ricco.
Fun Sun
My headache is finally gone...it lingered on in Sat but not too bad.
Went to church, then yoga, then downtown The Bay.
We registered with The Bay and got our $25 gift certificate and also a free engagement photo session with a 8x10 print to put at the reception entrance =).
We scanned some dinning set, vase, candle holder, cushions, throw rug, and kitchen appliances. Our scanner ran out of battery at around 3:30pm..... We're gonna come back for another time... probably when we take our free photo session.
Afterwards, we came back to Richmond and had egg, grilled steak, cereal, and 1/2 a piece of bread with very nice jam.

Furniture store browsing
IKEA
I like the color of this one but putting the pictures there seem to be too dangerous ...
I love the Mirror and the contrast!!!
This is such a neat shelf
I like the grey with the orange, and the tiles on the floor.
Love the lamps!

Isn't this neat?

I want this shelf... or something similar
Home Delight
Interesting sofa

Interesting but expensive shelf
This is what I want, microfiber sofa (103"Wx38"(64")Dx29"H Grade F, right config only, $1199 floor model (regular price $1749)
I like this shelf but it's $2xx

This is even more streamlined... but can I get a fake wall like that too?
Meridian Table (48"Diameterx30"H, tempered glass top, wood frame- wenge) $479 (regular price $599)
Mobler Furniture
Compfy but traditional style, $898 (regular price $1198)
Nice rug and interesting coffee table, the sofa is $1698, regular price $2498
Cute single chairs, $119 (regular price $249)
Useless giraffe, small one is $129.
Another L-shaped sofa, $898 (regular price $1198)

Romantic dinner
On Sat, went to Brockhouse to use up the $30 coupon I got from the wedding show. I ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli, John ordered the Mango Halibut. Both were very good, afterwards we had Pears “Vanell”, too much ice cream and too lil pears.... the pears were very good... but only had 2 small slices. The ice cream was vanilla, a bit like the vanilla yogurt at silvercity. Forgot to take pictures at both counts.... only realized it after we had finished all the food...
I didn't go to The Bay downtown to register..... too lazy to drive over there and pay gas and parking $$.
Went shopping alone on Sun, went to Ikea, then Home sweet home, then Richmond Center.
Home sweet home is more high class than Ikea and more expensive. The lady at the richmond center store asked if I'm looking for dress for my graduation...
Went to pay deposit for my makeup and wedding dress reservation.... in cheque and cash....was going to buy some snacks at the chinese supermarket but they did not accept my visa card (there is a minimum spending in order to use visa) and I had no cash at all...

BrockHouse wedding show
Headache finally gone on Sunday.
Went to early morning church, then yoga... then went to friend's place in Van and carpooled to brock house together. We found a parking space on the street not too far away. It was raining cats and dogs
We each got a gift bag and a rose. I chose a white one with pink rim.
There was so much good food.
Here are the tuna sashimi and the wraps.
Here are the biscuits and the sushi.
- sushi: carlifornia roll, salmon sushi (with thick piece of salmon sashimi on top), tuna sashimi in a spoon (marinating in some kind of spicy citric sauce..so good i had 2), some sushi with egg and tuna in it and a piece of edible gold piece on top.
- biscuits: scallop on top, fish eggs on top, lobster on top, shrimp on top, salmon sashimi on top
- wraps (skipped this one, it seems too filling)
- scallop with shrimp (o so very good... i usually don't like scallop)
- lemon drop cake sample, chocolate mousse cake sample
- April's cake sample, I got the raspberry with white chocolate
- super sweet heartshaped cookies with white icing ontop
- deep fried potato balls... or sth like that (missed out on this one)
- very authentic peiking duck wrap(has both the meat and skin inside)
- seafood chowder with pastry stick
- tomato soup with spirally cream (skipped)
- beef with asparagus (skipped, too full)
- asparagus with pastry wrapped (skipped, too full)
- cream puff (skipped, too full)
- biscotti with chocolate mousse and a strawberry in a cup (skipped, too full)
- pancake with hot caramel sauce and orange julius
- fresh fruits, i had a piece of pineapple to aid digestion.
- pancake with fruits, strawberry, blueberry, melons
- chicken (...looks like the indian butter chicken...skipped, too full)
- champagne, white wine, red wine (skipped, too full)
- small piece of meat/steak (skipped, too full)
- cupcake with icing on top and some marshmallows on the side (only had the marshmallows, too full)
- fruit punch, so very good, i had 2.5 of it
Took a photo of my ring with 3-d design studio, will have to pick it up later... they're in richmond.
At the end, I won a coupon for limousine rental and a bottle of asti sparkling wine.
The fashion show this time had a lot more bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses.... the models this time were more voluptuous than last time.

Headache epic
Have a headache on Fri... lasted till Sat.
Actually threw up after dim sum on friday... and left work early and skipped my skating class. Felt much better after I threw up (either from T3 or from indigestion) and no headahce for the rest of the day... but then on Sat it's back altho milder.
Went gown shopping with friend, went to Bisou and Garden of Eden. Bisou's dresses are much more expensive and their sample dresses are quite worn out.
Had lunch at i-cafe, shared a speghetti with meat sauce and an egg.
Afterwards, went to a custom-made dress store in Vancouver... they don't have much dress to let us see. Then, went to 2 bridal protrait shooting stores in Richmond. Both of them have dresses to try on, one more than the other. I can't decide which dress I like the best.... cute and lighter or elegant but heavier.... i donno i donno....
The only thing I'm certain is that chinese stores have dresses that suit me better..... i.e. I don't have to hold on to the dress for my dear life. Both shops in Richmond have about the same price $2xxx - $3XXX for photo shooting..... I so wanted it.... since it's a once in a life time thing. But, to do the pre-wedding photo... will definitely need to take a day off (and will definitely take a whole day for the shoot), but u get to rent out 3 dresses and a tux for the pre-wedding shooting, and 3 dresses for the wedding day (no tux, but dresses include the wedding gown)...
On the other hand, my sister already bought the bridesmaid dress.... she's faster than me.

Thanksgiving and gown hunting
All 5 of us had dinner at home for mid autumn festival. Mom cooked sea cucumber with pork chop and dried scallop, it's very nice. We had mooncake afterwards, I still don't really like mooncake but I ate a big 1/4 of it anyway.
Went gown shopping in new West with sis... I still haven't decided on one. Lisa's bridal was way too crowded... like a mini metrotown..... didn't get to see all the dresses... many were being tried on by other ppl.
Found one dress that fit me. It looked good, but it might be too plain... and i can't really zip it up at the waist.... and the top is too big....
Bought 2 magazines from chapters.... now I really like Alan Hannah brand... just worried that it might be too plain or won't look good on me...none of the shops here have it.

I also like Adele Wechsler but mom and sis are saying that it doesn't look like a wedding dress.

I actually quite like Anjolique, but a few of my friends disagreed.

This is the only one dress that I'd tried on.....that sorta fitted me after lots of pinning on a size 8.

Went bubble tea in ricco cafe, they don't have the birds there anymore. Ordered the original red milk tea without the pearl, back to basic. John ordered logan red date tea, much sweeter than before and have a whole lot of dates and logan.
Watched "Departed" on Sunday, very good. Did a few mins of ring browsing....didn't exactly find anything i like.
Had Thanksgiving dinner at John's auntie place.
We had turkey with cranberry sauce, mash potatoes with gravy, steamed brocolli and carrots. For dessert, we had pumpkin pie with whipped cream. I like the cream more than the pie. We had red tea after the dessert. I tried a lil tomato aspec, it's interesting, like left over tomato soup that's been frozen/coagulated in the fridge..actually it's more like V8 jello. I got to pack a lil of it home too.
Patted Cleo. She likes upstairs and the balcony too much....oh i forgot to take her pic with my camera phone.
Watched "Heroes" after I got home, it's very good and different... like X-men on TV.

Another busy week
Went to ex-coworker's wedding at Victoria restaurant in downtown and ceremony in Port Moody...so far away.
In between, went to a friend's place and just waited there. Sorta took a nap and played with "Cricket".
It was a fun day except that I had a headache throughout the day, didn't sleep enuf the day before and slept too much on that day.
I felt so bad that i took 4 advils in 2 hrs... and felt even worse afterwards.... wanted to throw up while my friend was driving to us to the banquet (all of us richmond ppl carpooled). I didn't feel better until the very last dish. I skipped the chicken and also the fish with the snow peas, for every other things I ate half of what I usually eat. But, I took a bag of left over chicken home...
Dad had decided us a place for our banquet, it'll be at Kirin in Richmond... much more affordable than those hotel places. He's pressuring me to buy necklace, so now I have to find a dress asap....I had booked an appointment with a shop in New West, heard that there are a lot of places to choose from in New West.
