Nice weekend

Freak accident
Almost killed one of the big fishes. I was being diligent and decided to clean the big tank. I had to take out the canopy (so no light) so that I had more room for siphoning. As I was sucking the dirt out from the back of the tank, I accidentally stuck my python to one of the fishes. I tried to pry it out by hand but it's too stuck, after a min of struggling I asked my dad to turn off the water. It now has an interesting pattern on the right side of its body, many scales were torn off and a bloody mark on its anal fin. I think it's a miracle that it survived given how much suction power that python had.

London landing
After my lesson, went to see London landing with John. It's pretty small, as what I'd expect from a townhosue. I quite like their color scheme, yellowish brown wall with hardwood floor, and brown wooden color for the picture frames. In one of the bedrooms, the wall is greyish blue.
For my new room, I think I either want chocolate brown or greyish blue. Greyish blue is nice but not sure if it'd be too cold for a bedroom.

Movie
After london landing, we went back home to get the movie coupons and had some snacks before heading out to Silver City.
We saw "Inside Man". It's quite clever, but I already knew one of the interesting parts from the preview, all of them dressed the same.
Afterwards, we decided to go to Costco, only that it's closed. We passed by Riverrock casino, and went in and took a look. It's similar to vegas, only less busy and less smoky (except for the poker room). The buffet was quite expensive. For sun, it's about 22, so we decided to go grocery shopping and headed home instead.

All day walking
On Sun, after going to church, I went out by myself and did tons of window shopping.
First, I went to see display suites: Emporio, Opal, since it's kinda on the way.
Then, I went to Fujiya for my matcha, and then The Brick.
Then I walked for about 3-4 blocks, trying to find Home Delight, cuz I missed it last time when I was driving.
On the way, I went into Shermin paintshop. They have lots of color sample strips and some color combination suggestions, but none they were as convenient as the color scheme book that I bought (Yay for me!).
After 4 blocks of walking, I gave up, and decided to drive to Home Delight.
On the way, I saw JR Furniture, so went in and had a look. It's very similar to The Brick.
So, after almost 2 hours of wandering around, I finally arrived at Home Delight. It is like its name, a delight. Its furniture styles are very modern and contemporary. And, they have scaled down sofa for small condo. Also, its price is quite reasonable. There is this one particular sofa that I like. It's in grey Corduroy, and it has adjustable back, and it's an L-shape sofa. However, my sis said we better stick to leather, cuz it'd be too hot during summer. I'm also worried that Corduroy might not last very long.
After Home Delight, I went to see Mobler. And, then I decided that I'd seen enuf and went back down no.3. On the way, I passed Fullerton presentation center. Its interior design is just average, but they had free coffee, tea, and fresh baked cookies (gingerbread and white butter cookies with raspberry jam in the middle). Like all other condos, it's almost all sold out, except for one apartment unit plan, and one townhouse plan.
On my way to Superpet, I passed by an alley and noticed that they have several furniture stores there. They're all out of style and too anitque looking for my taste.
After Superpet, I went to Richmond center. It'd changed a lot. The Garage is all newly designed, probably the one that has the most interior design amongst all the stores. And, there is no more Death by Chocolate. It's now Ice Cream melt, those that were once very popular in the chinese mainstream several years ago.
I visited the Bay, Sears, Pet Habitat, Garage, and the Face Shop. Also dropped by Second cup and tried their green tea latte. It's fantastic! None of those articial flavour that Starbucks put in their green tea latte.

Lessons
The usual, fixing waltz jump, trying stand-still single axel.
Learned some more new warmup in adult class.
Alternating outside edge, lift leg.
Alternating inside edge.
New thing about them is that after the edge, I'm at 90degree from where I start.
And, still cannot do the grapevine.
One of our classmates fell and had a nosebleed.
Coach pointed out what's wrong with my dry land jumping exercise -- not jumping thru the toe. As a result, I'm stuck on the take-off axis and I'm not totally on a new axis when I try to rotate. Same thing I did on ice.

Double Weekend :D

Long weekend is finally here after much wait.
Went to 2 masses, one on Fri noon for 2 hrs, and one regular one on sun..

Fri
After skating, rushed to a vegetarian place for supper. Someone somehow forgot to put in our order. After much complain, we had our appetizer after 45mins of waiting, and then found out that the order's lost. But, the food was good. We had veggie pork chop with orange sauce, soy meat like thing with taro, and veggie bbq steak with broccoli and cauliflower. The one with orange sauce is the best. For dessert, we had free instant sesame sweet soup.
Then we went home and watched "Uptown girls" that was taped earlier while we're having supper.

Sat
Went downtown for the decor show. We took the bus. It was a lot of fun and relaxing, not having to step onto a gas pedal all the time. Did not bring a camera, cuz I remember how tiring it was to take pictures all the time. Got free newspaper, candies and a bunch of brochures. There were about 16-20 showrooms.
Afterwards, we went to Aqua Riva. Service was a lot better this time since we got there at 5. We actually got out of the show at 3:30 and waited around for a while. It was worth it tho, the food was fantastic. I ordered the Spit Roasted Duck (with a grilled apple, spinach, goat cheese & pistachio saute, date & lime chutney and foie gras springroll) and John had the Wood Grilled Pepper Crusted Beef Tenderloin (with smoked bacon & scallion mashed potatoes and an onion & pistachio marmalade). There was a lot of spinach in mine and I didn't discover the big lump of goat cheese till the spinach's almost gone. John's mashed potatoes had a lot of raw scallions. The date in mine didn't exactly look like date, it's like soft chew candies. I didn't exactly like the pistachio sauce, there's a lil bitter taste in it... maybe it was too much salt. For dessert, we ordered the dessert sampler. It had kiwi sorbet, Maple & Lemon Grass Creme Brulee, and Star Anise Infused New York Cheesecake with vanilla mango sauce. I love the creme brulee, it's like steamed milk custard but only much better. Oh, and I saw a seal in the water while enjoying the view there. There were also a few seagulls flying non-stop, outside of course.
Aftwards, we went back to Richmond and went to Chapters, looking some more design books and magazines.

Sun
Had to take a day off from running, right ankle was too painful after much dry land jumping exercise and consecutive days of running and skating.
Had dim sum with family, went to John's place, then went to New West for another family dinner. Very nice supper, had turkey with stuffings, mashed potatoes with gravy, and greek salad. For dessert, had apple pie with cool whip(John had pumpkin pie with no crust). I got to take 2 apple pies and some chocolates with me.
After I got home, I had the one extra applie pie and 2 mini sausage rolls.

Mon
Had a huge breakfast, the other apple pie, 1 mini sausage roll, matcha milk, some mini biscuits, and then a packet of instant walnut sweet soup before noon.
So, I ran 45 mins (with 4 bathroom breaks in between).
Then, I went to Chapters, and looked at some more interior design books. There were so many, I couldn't decide which one to get and just bought a color scheme book in the end. Had a disgusting green tea matcha, somehow I forgot how bad it tasted and got it again.
Then I went to Ikea, browsed around, and had a frozen yogurt. It wasn't as good as I remembered it.
I was gonna go check out "Home Delight", but as I was driving down from IKEA I couldn't see it anymore.
So I ended up going to superPet. I saw some dog cushion/bed that I would like to get for myself later.
Also checked out the new store besides Superpet. It's like a chinese kitchen supply stores.
Afterwards, went to SuperStore. They had some design books, but not a lot. They also had mirrors and furnitures. They had suade covered dinning chair for just 19.99!!! But, none were left. I've got to remember to go there when shopping for furniture.

Lessons
Fri
Fixing waltz jump...still...., started stand still single axel (in reality, it's only a third of an axel.
Sat
Learned new warm up, while swizzeling forward cross one leg behind the other (alternate legs from one set to the other), repeat the same thing but with swizzeling backward (which is way harder). I kept having one skate off the ice from time to time, can't seem to use both edges at the same time.
Did some more stand still "single axel". Coach showed me the walk thru, she really did initiate the turn before she landed back on the ice. Me, on the other hand, do not know how to start the turn/spin while still in the air. Although I've been told many times to step in with my left skate and pull my arms close to my body, however there is no spin or turn happening whatsoever everytime I do it. I think it's because I do not have a nice forward edge (with a nice small curve) before jumping, jumping straight up and stepping in of course is not going to have any angular momentum. And, I absolutely must not swing my free leg around. I was told to jump straight up and I must do so otherwise I'll end up off the vertical axis before taking off. It's so confusing...

Another weekend

Been very very busy. Finally break a 100 page for my studying :P I'm slow.

Classes
Adult class has a new coach, she is pretty good. We went over crossover, backspin, and waltz jump. I'm still not bending enuf for my forward crossover, and my shoulders are still too squared for my backward crossover. As for the waltz jump, she told me that I should step outside to the circle more. I tried that yesterday, felt totally wrong and couldn't jump up much.
For the private lesson, also fixing waltz jump and noticed that I'd been doing my backspin totally wrong all along. I'm not immediately doing the spin. I basically do a few back 3-turn and forward 3-turn before really centering and starting the spin. Now I try the dropping the left side and let the left side go under me and hook in the toe for the backspin entry. Still need some time to get used to it.
K asked me how old I was yesterday, I told him my age and he's very surprised by it.

Display suite
Went to see another display suite, Panoma. It's probably the most expensive one around town, and yet absolutely every plan is sold out except the penthouse. Unbelievable...

Hockey
Won on Sat game. One down, FOUR to go!!!

Dog

Had dinner with John's parents and his uncle's family yesterday.
I had such a good time. The dessert was delicious, strawberry and rhubarb pie....yum...
Before supper, I walked his uncle's family dog. It's so very cute. It's a mix of Yorkshire and Shih Tzu. It only smelled a lil bit.
At first he was afraid of me, trembling when I was holding him. After I ran with him outside, he liked me a lot. He washed my face and ear for at least 5 times.
Now I want John to get a dog, or befriend his neighbour who has a cat.
I'm actually starting to like dog more than cat now.

Classes

Fri class
Worked on waltz jump and toe loop.
The tip for waltz jump helped a bit: when gliding backwards, you go into the circle a lil bit, and when you jump, ur shoulders should be square with ur hips.
For the toe loop, try to do the 3-turn straighter, and skates should be close to each other right before the jump.

Sat adult class
Worked on edges at the beginning, 4 alternate forward inside edges then make a circle while gliding on the inside edge and repeat, 4 alternate backward outside edges then make a circle while gliding on the backward outside edge and repeat.
Then did jumping circuit (3 waltz jumps, 2 loops, flip, and lutz).
Then focused on practicing 3 waltz jumps in a roll, and then fix the flip and the lutz to not swing the upper body.
Learned new series: waltz jump, falling leaf, flip, loop.

another weekend

Sat
Went to skating class, studied a bit, then went to see "V for Vendetta" with John.
It's such a good and interesting and unique movie.
After movie, we watched hockey. Canucks lost again.

Sun
Went to church, then facial. They tried to get me to try their whole body massage, and also a whole body exfoliate and whitening.....no thanks...who cares about dead skin on their arms.
Went to see John and studied a bit, then we went to the library and the bank.
Napped for an hr, studed a bit more and went home for supper.
Mom bought more chinese pastries again, I indulged in them too much and felt sick afterwards.
