Friend of mine from UBC is leaving Canada soon. Going to Japan, EA Japan. Good for him! Guess his ten years of hard work finally paid off. The EA Japan VP specifically requested him to be transferred to Japan!!! Guess his tools and researches were used globally (globally EA I mean). I guess he's all famous now. And, going to Japan has always been his dream since high school at least. He is very much into Japan and Japanese culture. Can speak Japanese quite fluently for example. We should have a celebration with him sometime that is if he can afford the time. Must be super busy rite now.
I'm a bit worried about his back tho. He hurt it when he was in a Judo black belt competition. Donno if they have chiropractor in Japan...

Abortion
From my religious point of view, it's totally wrong. Only God has the power to terminate a life. And every living thing should have a chance to experience life to its fullest.
I do agree that in some instances where the "parents" r not ready for a baby or the whole thing is just a terrible mishap, then it's unfair to the baby. However, who knows what he/she can accomplish even given the poor quality in life. Maybe he/she can grow up and become a scientist and take part in discovering new cures, or grow up and become a wonderful mother/father, or grow up and become a social worker that will help many other ppl. Who knows?
Some ppl may argue "What about woman's right? Shouldn't the mother has the right to decide?". But, a life is a life. Is sacrificing one life for another the right thing to do (and the one being sacrified cannot take part in the decision)? I am not so sure....

Just another regular day
Feel fine yesterday (tue). Went running as usual. But, very tired. Did 10 laps then had to take a break. Walked one lap. Then, ran another 5 laps. Then took a break. Then, ran another 3 laps. Then walked one more lap.
John phoned me around 7:30pm. So nice :). We went for a walk after he finished posting his assignment. The moon's so nice and round.... being "mid-autumn" and all. Altho it's all dark and dangerous (according to my parents), it's quiet and nice and comfortable. Not too cold. We got to talk a lot :).
Got a call from my ex-supervisor. Says there might be a contract coming up at his workplace... well but then I'm already working plus that place is all the way in North Van. But so nice to hear from him that he immediately thought of me when his boss asked him. Must be because of all the overtime that I worked before.
John said I should go have thanksgiving lunch/dinner with his family (mom excluded, went travelling). I wonder if I should invite him to my family's thanksgiving supper, if there is any.
Feeling very fine today (wed). Not much soareness in my throat. Wow! I'm so strong. Just some fever and I beat the virus. My co-worker is feeling better too... still coughing tho. Went to pick him up this morning. Waited outside for more than 10mins... for him to finish brushing his teeth ... I did phone ahead (15mins ahead) before I came over tho.
Going skating after work today.
Got a msg from my DDS friend. They r having a get together on fri nite, dinner and karaoke. I hope John would be able to join me, hope he won't be too tired. It'd be fun!
Revised a letter for my online friend for his ex. Very nice letter. Very funny too, the attached fold-up barf bag jpg.

First posting
Hewwo.
Lets see.... what happened lately..
Met John's parents on Sunday. Nice ppl. Had a nice walk near the river. Beautiful but getting too cold in the end. Then had a fever for an hr afterwards. But fine the next day. So went to work as usual.
Next day.... work as usual. Finished my estimates for my manager. He said it's too long. Well what do u expect with all the test cases and i'm so inexperienced with all of them. What a waste of time to do scheduling I think.
Since I feel fine, I went to run with John... I was 10mins late... John already did 3 laps when I started. So, ended up only did 12 laps. Felt very tired tho. Then went to London Drugs. John bought me instant breakfast (strawberry flavour). Yay!! Then went home took a shower and tried to finish the DVD, Godsend. Only 10mins into it and I started trembling/convulsing
for 15mins and a fever afterwards lasted till 11:00pm. Then I felt ok again. Went down and watched some TV and had 1.5 small slices of mooncake. Slept at 12:00. I'm so weird. I think I had some sort of delayed response to hypothermia... forgot to bring my jacket with me while walking towards London Drugs probably.. or may be it's the soar throat... or may be i had too many vitamin C and Advil for my soar throat... or may be it's the soar throat that caused it.
Today.... well have to redo the estimates as expected. Went out during lunch and missed John online again... aghhhh.... but I just can't stand the cold in the building ... had to get out.
So far I feel fine. Maybe I can run again tonite, probably for 15laps maximum.
Skating has been going ok. Getting better in my single salchow and the warm up moves (stand on toe picks and push backwards using the toe picks; swizzle then stand on toe picks, then back swizzle, then stand on end of blade). Can do salchow rite after a waltz jump now. Still suck at the clockwise direction of backward crossover. The anti-clockwise one comes naturally to me but not the other one :'(. Taught us pivot. Basically dig a hole in the ice. Stick one of ur skates in the ice using the toepick and glide on the other one in a circle. From that we moved onto backspin. But, I already knew backspin. So basically.. nothing new for me.
