Great weekend

Taste of the City
Me and my sister each spent $15 on the tasting tickets and we parked $5 for 3 hours, 3 blocks away from the event.
We had...
Beaches Restaurant @ Coast Tsawwassen
- Mango and chocolate cheesecake
- Butter chicken with Naan bread
Maurya Indian Cuisine
- Chicken samosa (I skipped this one)
Sate Satu Restaurant
- Dutch Meatballs
Patisserie Lebeau (THE BEST)
- Liege Waffle & Chocolate Ganache
- Liege Waffle with Creme Anglaise & Fruit
- Liege Waffle Bread Pudding
Senova
- Salt Cod Fritters
O'Doul's Restaurant & Bar (THE BEST)
- Pesto marinated lamb chop (I skipped this one)
- Ravioli Agnollita
Ashiana Tandoori
- Vegetable Samosa
Century
- Virgin Mojito
Joey's Restaurant
- California Sushi Tacos
(wanted to try the chocolate raspberry tart, but we didn't have enuf ticket)
(they have one hot chef there, wearing sunglasses looking very cool)

Fennie's Bistro didn't have much, just a bite-size roast beef sandwich. So, we skipped it.

After the event, we headed back to Richmond.
Went across the street and went to the open house. They had just reduced their price $5k, but so far no offer.

Saw "Lady in the water" with John. It's quite unique, but I wouldn't say that it's the best movie this year.

Shitty weekend

On sun, after skating, went to dealership to pick up the courtesy car but turned out that the person that was holding the key went to a theater and won't be back till 6pm. Ended up going home and waited for a few hrs. Basically couldn't do much on Sun.
Also, my cutest fish died, there is no meaning in my small tank anymore. Half of its body was decayed so I took it out and tried to bandage it for half an hr ... and then when I put it back into the water it gasped for a few breaths and stopped moving.... so.... sad....
In the morning I went to the dentist and waited for a whole hour before I was attended to.... and I accidentally took my sister's spot so she had to wait a lil than an hr for her servicing.
Sat.... can't remember what I did....nothing worth remembering probably.

Company moved to new place on Mon, didn't have internet till after Wed morning.
Did some heavy labour on Tue, helped built 4 benches, each has approx 30 screws, and helped moved 6 system racks. So tired by the end of the day... but I still managed to go visit John after work since I passed by his place on my way home.

Learned that John's friend got engaged. That'd be the nineth wedding that I've heard of this year.... already got invited to 7 weddings this year.

Sometime during the weekend, saw Aeon Flux, the BEST movie i'd ever seen....Charlize's stunt was amazing and the costume and set design were awesome!!!!

Oh... and I got a ticket for driving at 66kph!!!! He wrote me a $138 ticket, the lowest price he could get me he said. My sis got a ticket too, same price, but she was driving at 8X kph. What a rip off!

Another short weekend

In the morning, did water change for big tank and took a whole bunch of pictures for it. Then, ran for 35mins only. My legs were feeling a bit too tired from the skating and running before.

Afterwards, went to Jo's wedding on Sat. It's a catholic wedding, took about an hour and it started right on time. There were refreshments afterwards, they were a lil stale but quite different. There were biscuits with salmon on. There were small sandwiches, like the one ppl will bring to a picnic, mayo sandwich, ham sandwich. They even had sushi. We also had some wedding cake, I suspected that it's one of the layers of the original wedding cake. It's pretty good. There were fruits as well, pineapple, watermelon, grapes, melon, and cantaloup. There were root beer, 7up, coke, and bottles of water. I tried a bit of coke and 7up. Before I left, I grabbed a water cuz I'd left mine at home. The church was really big, bigger than the one I go to.
We all took some pictures with the bride and groom at the end, and left around 4pm.

Since I have nothing to do, I just went home and changed and took some more fish pics.

Went to the wedding banquet. Sat with Edmund and Christina, Philip, Doris and Kingston, and some HSBC ppl. Oh and I found out that I have another wedding to go to.... a total of 7 weddings this year. There were some fun games and food was good.
Games that I remember:
- The bride was blindfolded and had to find out the groom by touching all the guys' chests. And, she found him out twice!
- The groom wore a cucumber at his waist and got close to the ground and kicked some fruit (maybe a lemon) over and in between the bride's legs.
- The groom rapped a love song.

The very next day, had to go to 8:00am church since I had facial at 9:30.
They were trying to sell me some more facial again, typical. I didn't buy any but I did buy sth for allergy... for the redness in my face... either from too much chocolate or too much lobster.

After facial, I got home and did water change for the small tank. The whole thing took me about 2 hours. Scrapped off all the algae from all 3 walls (backwall algae is my butterfly loach food source), and cut out all the algae covered or dying leaves.
For the small tank, I only have 1 balloon molly, 3 danio, ,3 minnows and 1 butterfly loach. The rest died. Past residences RIP...2 ocinto catfishes, 1 balloon molly, 1 danio, 1 minnow, and 1 butterfly loach.

Went to the lottery showhome with John. We walked 45mins under the sun. We were both exhausted afterwards.
For snack, I had a lil chicken, a fried egg, and an almond buttered bread.
I was so exhausted that it felt like midnight altho it's still bright outside.
But, I got my energy back at around 8pm.... got some more fish pics and uploaded some.

Short weekend

Watched CFL football game on TV on Fri nite.
Changed water for big tank on Sat morning.
Skated about 2 hours. It was super crowded. A guy there was practicing single axel, double toe loop, double loop, flying camel spin, camel spin, and sit spin on the right foot. I wished some day I can do a double something.
My skates r feeling much better now, no longer bone crushing for my left skate.
However, I still haven't gotten my backspin back. I don't dare to do any blade realignment anymore.... or maybe I should dig my old jackson skates out and look at how the blades were fixed on the skates and compare to the one that I'm using now.
After skating saw "Pirates of the Caribbean" with John. It's very good, even better if I had understood it more. I don't quite get the ending.
Did absolutely nothing on Sun. After church, just stayed home and had lots of bread with nutella and leftover for lunch. Ran 45mins, and walked 10mins with 5 mins uphill.
Dinner at boathouse with John's family and my parents. It was very good especially the free bday dessert, cookie and cream ice cream cake with chocolate cookie crust.
We had 3 bdays so we got 3 free desserts. For the main course, I had the Maple Chinook Salmon, and John had the Paella. Both were very good. I would prefer my salmon to be a bit more juicier but the Maple Salmon was quite unique.
I got lots of presents, starbucks coffee cup, starbucks coffee card, hair gel, body hydrating thing, belgian chocolates, hershley chocolates, and a home decorating book.

Long weekend

Fri
Took a day off for my bday :).
First went to Shanghai River for brunch with parents. I had never tried that restaurant before... it's always too busy.
Afterwards went to Aberdeen Center to pick up cake and visited the cell phone dealer.. turns out that I do have to have the whole package in order to get a replacement. Ended up driving back to work to pick up the USB cable and went shopping in Brentwood mall with mom. The water plants were on sale. Got the onion plant and Egeria densa. The Egeria were all pulled out by the fishes. I just let them flow on top of the tank, I hope that's ok. During the week, I bought a goldfish with gold color and lots of black moldy spots... it was too cute to not buy it and it's on sale for 2.88 (original price 4.88).
Afterwards had cake at home with John and family, a cappucino coffee cake with almond crust. It had too much crust and not enuf cake.
Later, went to Ricco with John. The lovebirds there r gone... donno where they went.
I had pinenut milk tea. John had the usual mango slush. The mango slush's very good, so was the pinenut but I find it a bit too concentrated. I was so full that I couldn't have supper afterwards.
Sat
Went to Cyclone Taylor and got new skates!! The usual Graf Edmond Special. They have improved on it a lil, allows more toe pointing.
Afterwards just shopped around in Oakridge center and Richmond center... didn't buy anything... I kept thinking that I'd already spent too much $$$.
For supper, went to Milestone with a friend of mine and John :). She treated both of us. She's so nice. I only had the chicken salsa soup since I'm not that hungry. I ordered the bellini. It was fantastic, almost no alcohol taste in it. For dessert, they gave me the chocolate torte. The toffee sauce was great but the cake itself has too much chocolate in it... I'm not a fan of chocolate. I ended up sharing the dessert with my friend, key lime pie. It was great! They also took a polaroid picture for us. Very unexpected.
Sun
Had church then facial.
Went to the dog park on the dyke and then the fake park on Garden City.
Near the dyke, there were a few lil houses and an interesting bridge. I wonder if ppl can sue them if someone falls in.
Got 2-color neck.
Had family dinner at Shi Art. It's awesome. We ordered the fish hot pot, fried beef fillet with onions, fried rice with shrimps and chicken, and pan fried bok choy with garlic... yes almost everything fried. For the free dessert it's the yummy red bean soup with black sticky rice. Mmmmmm
Mon
Went to try out my new skates. It hurts, but at least now I can do my usual jumps, backspin, and camel spin... not sitspin just yet.... need to break into it a lil bit more. I might need them to do some punching on the left skate but I am not gonna do it until I'm absolutely sure.... just in case it makes one side bigger than the other side.
Then, we went to driving range and John got a great deal for my friend's used golf set.
Movie
Sometime during the week rented "Hills have eyes". It's not cheesy but very gruesome. The storyline could be longer.
